To whom? Men (45-75 years old)
Method

You can take the Prostate glands test comfortably, quickly and painlessly. You receive an answer in 10 minutes, and you do not have to visit your doctor, or send your results to a laboratory.

What does the PROSTA-Check rapid test show?

PROSTA-Check® home rapid test determines whether prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels in your blood are normal or higher than average. PSA is a protein, which is only produced by the prostate, but part of it may enter the blood stream. This is how the blood test can assess the physiological condition of your prostate. Results from PROSTA-Check® rapid test that are higher than normal (over 4 ng / ml), determines whether the prostate is benign or contains a malignant growth.

Does it mean cancer if the reading is higher than normal?

No. PSA levels rise in the blood does not always mean that a man has cancer. If a PSA test is high to very high then it could indicate whether the PSA level is above average (> 20 ng / ml). If the level has risen only moderately, other possible diseases or factors should be taken into account causing a PSA rise. In most cases, the cause could be benign prostatic hyperplasia or prostatitis.

Why do I have to take the test each year?

It is very important to monitor the change in your PSA value throughout the year. The faster rise in your PSA levels, the more likely it is caused by a malignant tumour. The fact that prostate cancer cells release into the blood stream many times more PSA than in the entire prostate makes the PSA test extremely valuable. Hence, the PSA test can be successfully used in an early diagnosis of prostate cancer.

What should I do if the test indicates rise of PSA level, or compared to the last year a change has occurred?

Please speak to your doctor for advice.

We recommend all men from age 45 to take PSA test once a year. Early detection of prostate problems is vital for early treatment.
